Software Installations/Upgrades
We can help you set up the accounts you need and delete the ones you
don't. We can also import your company logo and have it print on your
invoices.
Software upgrades are common, but most people don't take advantage of them
because they don't understand them. We can help. Not only can we let
you know what upgrades are available, we can even come to your place of business
and perform the upgrade for you. Some of these upgrades correct minor
problems with the software; others are major overhauls, such as when QuickBooks
upgraded to become Y2K compatible.
Company Setup
Unless you're an accountant, you may not understand how your own chart of
accounts works. For example, should liability accounts normally be a debit or
credit account. We can help you clean up your accounts, giving them
names that are meaningful to you, adding accounts unique to your business, and
deleting accounts which are only cluttering your books. We can also help
you format your invoices, statements, checks, etc. Once you're happy with how everything
looks, we can show you what to do and how to do it. And more
importantly, we can help when things go wrong.
Data Entry
Do you sometimes feel you're wasting valuable time trying to track the money
you'd be making if you weren't forced to spend your time tracking the money in
the first place? Stuff all those checks, receipts, and bank statements in
an envelope, send them to Kershaw & Associates, and forget about it until
you receive your completed financial statements in the mail.
Financial Statements
Sound financial statements are often the key to obtaining business
financing. But the last thing you want to do is present your loan officer
with documents you don't understand or have no confidence in. What happens
if they question your balance sheet? Will you have an answer ready?
Send us your files; we'll get them ready for close scrutiny, then explain them
to you so you can convince that banker you really do know your business.
Account Reviews
Do your accounts say you're losing money while your bank account says you're
not? Or worse, are you paying taxes on a profit you're convinced isn't
there? Hey, let's face it, if you understood all those accounts, you'd be
an accountant, right? We understand you don't have time to sit at your
desk "crunching numbers" all day. That's what we're for!

Bank Reconciliation
Most of us hate to balance the checkbook. And if you've got a business,
you probably have more than one bank account (if you don't, you should).
But at Kershaw & Associates, we love balancing checkbooks, or bank reconciliation
in accounting terms. Mail us your canceled checks or your
check register and your bank statements, then let us figure out where that extra
$20 came from.
